Bracket Roughing on Haas VF2 SS with Diamond Back End Mill

"A roughing operation on these mounting bracket workpieces. Shown in the video is a Destiny Tool Diamondback for roughing, then a Destiny Tool Viper is used for finishing.

Cutting parameters: 10,000-RPM, 0.5" full width of cut, 0.505" depth of cut, 0.0073-IPT, 56 in^3/min. The machine was running about 85% load during the high points, but we found the toolholder couldn't retain the endmill if we pulled any harder. 

We tried an alternate toolpath running 1.010" depth of cut, but the toolholder limited the cutting to 0.0035-IPT. The material removal rate was slightly less using the method shown in the video, so we reverted back."

They provide OEM products for several companies looking to maintain a foothold in US-based production.
